King Zog statue in Tirana
The last ceremony for the Jubilee year was held in Tirana today for the inauguration of the statue of King Zog.

The last ceremony for the Jubilee year was held in Tirana today for the inauguration of the statue of King Zog. The three meter statue was placed at the head of the King Zog boulevard facing in the direction of the center of Tirana, as in tribute to the creation of the modern capital of which was build in the Monarchs period.
The statue was ingurgitated by the Albanian prime Minister Dr. Sali Berisha and HRH Prince Leka II of the Albanians. In attendance where also the head of Parliament Josephine Topalli and the Ministers of Finace, Education and culture, as well as the major of Tirana, Mr. Lulzim Basha.
The 24th of December also coincides with the historical date of "legitimacy", when King Zog returned to Albania in 1924 after the fall of the rebellious government of Fan Nolli.
Prince Leka thanked the Prime Minister Berisha for the recognition given to King Zog during this past centurial anniversary of the creation of the Albanian state.
Prince Leka: "Let this monument symbolize the unity of the Albanian Nation, as one and only without devision!"
Prince Leka also recognized the government’s efforts in respecting all Albania’s historical figures and their individual contributions in building the modern state. His Highness also called upon the youth to serve the Albanian nation’s interests with devotion!
