Albania

During the beginning of the nineteen twenties, Albania went through a period of political instability, only after the “triumph of Legitimacy”, and the victory of Ahmet Zogu against the short lived government of F.Noli in 1925, Albania was declared a Republic modelled after the third French republic of 1870-1940.

In 1928, Albania was declared a Democratic Parliamentary Kingdom, with a democratically elected Parliament and the King holding limited executive powers, with cabinet Ministers.

The Kingdoms Constitution is still referred to by law makers. Due to its civil rights and democratic values which where revolutionary for the period.
